SO, WHO IS ARIADNE?

Born from myth, reimagined through modern craftsmanship.

Ariadne was the daughter of King Minos of Crete — the woman whose thread led Theseus out of the labyrinth. A symbol of guidance, courage, and creation.

At Ariadne, we follow her thread — from myth to material — to redefine sustainable luxury. Each design carries a story of transformation, weaving together upcycled coffee sacks, genuine leather, and handcrafted brass details.

Inspiration

This story encouraged us to “hold on by the end of the thread”. Under Ariadne’s guidance, we imagined the places this thread could take us. We thought that Ariadne might be one of the women who worked with great courage and determination during the coffee collection process. Coffee sacks are to us what Ariadne’s guidance was to Theseus. Moreover, we wanted the Doric columns, which were used in most of the Ancient Greek civilizations, including Crete and Athens, to be the carriers of our bags, and we were inspired by these columns in the handle design and as our logo.

UPCYCLING & HANDMADE

The inspiration emerged from the heart of family’s coffee business. Living and breathing the rhythm of the roastery, Eda Çetin was captivated by the untold stories of the burlap sacks that traveled oceans to bring raw beans to the atelier. Where others saw packaging, she saw a rich, textured canvas.

“It wasn’t a legacy I inherited, but a journey I witnessed.” Çetin states. “Watching the dedication put into roasting coffee, I realized the sacks themselves held a similar value—a raw, durable beauty that deserved a second life.”

The Creative Director’s Perspective

At Ariadne, the overlooked becomes extraordinary.
Upcycled coffee sacks meet genuine leather to form sculptural artifacts of sustainable luxury.

From the structural grace of Doric columns to the quiet strength of The Silent Queen, every piece is a study in perspective — and a statement of intention.
